Your sessions stay yours.

The short version

The Session Recorder app has no accounts, no telemetry, and no analytics, and your recordings never leave your Mac. The only time it contacts our server is to activate your Pro license, and what that sends is described under Activation below. This website (sessionrecorder.com) collects only what's needed to sell you a license and answer your questions — nothing more.

What the app does — and doesn't — collect

Session Recorder for macOS does not track you:

• No account, sign-up, or login.
• No telemetry, usage tracking, crash reporting, or analytics.
• Your recordings are ordinary audio files stored locally in ~/Music/Session Recorder/. They are never uploaded.
• Its only network contact is license activation (see Activation below). Once your license is activated, ordinary use of the app does not contact us.

What the website collects

We collect personal information only when you choose to interact with us:

When you buy Pro

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe handles them directly. From a completed purchase we receive your email address and basic order metadata (amount, date, Stripe identifiers) so we can issue and deliver your license key and keep the records required for tax and accounting. When we email your license key

We use Resend to deliver the license-key email. Your email address and the message contents pass through Resend for that delivery. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

When you activate Pro

A Pro license runs on one Mac at a time and can be moved to another. To make that work, activating or deactivating sends us:

• your email address, which is part of the license;
• a device identifier for your Mac — a one-way value derived from it, not the hardware identifier itself, and not something we can turn back into it;
• the date the license was activated.

We use this only to keep a license to one Mac at a time and to move it when you ask. We don't build a profile from it, and we don't share it.

When you contact us

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write. It is delivered to our support mailbox and is not stored anywhere else. We use it solely to respond to you.

Server logs

Our hosting and infrastructure providers keep standard access logs — including IP address, browser type, and pages requested — for security and reliability. These are retained for a limited period and are not used to profile you.

Fonts

Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party. Loading a page here does not tell anyone else that you visited.

Cookies & tracking

This website sets no advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across sites. Stripe may set cookies on its own checkout pages to process your payment and prevent fraud; that happens on Stripe's domain under Stripe's policy.

What we never do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• We do not show ads or run advertising trackers.
• We do not build marketing profiles or add you to lists you didn't ask for.

Who we share data with

Only the service providers needed to run the store and the license system, acting as processors on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Cloudflare (website hosting and license activation). We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

Purchase records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting obligations. Contact messages are kept until your question is resolved and for a reasonable period afterward. You can ask us to delete information we're not legally required to keep.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, reach us through our contact page and we'll respond within the timeframe the law requires.

Children

Session Recorder is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note it clearly. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
